Ingredients
½ cup instant coffee
2 cups hot water
1 cup chocolate syrup
⅔ cup sugar, or more to taste
⅛ teaspoon salt
3 cups half-and-half
3 cups whole milk
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Cold water to bring the total volume to 1 gallon
Directions
- Dissolve the instant coffee in 2 cups hot water. Stir in the sugar and salt until dissolved.
- Pour into a gallon-size pitcher. Add the chocolate syrup, half-and-half, whole milk, and vanilla extract. Stir well.
- Add cold water until the total volume reaches 1 gallon. Stir thoroughly.
- Refrigerate until cold. Stir or shake before serving, then pour over ice.
Notes
- Adjust the sugar to your taste. I use cold water to finish filling the pitcher to 1 gallon, but you can use milk for a richer version. Keep refrigerated and stir or shake well before serving. This is an iced coffee version—blend an individual serving with ice for a frozen-style drink.
